How long should your hair be?
All your hair should be at least 15cm long. Keep in mind that starting dreadlocks on short hair, dreads will stick up for a little while until it softens up.
Our dreadlocks installation services
We only use a crochet hook to start dreadlocks. The new dreads that we start are 100% natural and organic. We don’t use any chemical, wax or glue.
Dreadlocks installation is a long process: it can take between 3 to 12+ according to your length of hair or the size of the dreads wanted.
We can start dreadlocks on any hair types: afro, european or asian.
We currently don’t add extensions to dreadlocks.
What to do before starting dreadlocks
Wash your hair the day before and properly detangle your hair. Let your hair dry naturally. Make sure you have a great night sleep 🙂
Our dreadlocks installation services prices
I charge fixed prices for dreadlocks installation:
- Starting dreadlocks (half-head, “man bun”, mohawk):
- Price: $350
- Average service time: 2-4 hours
- Starting dreadlocks (above shoulders):
- Price: $450
- Average service time: 3-6 hours
- Starting dreadlocks (below shoulders):
- Price: $640
- Average service time: 6-12+ hours
- Starting dreadlocks (waist length):
- Price: $720
- Average service time: 12+ hours
What to do after starting dreadlocks?
You won’t be able to wash your hair for the first 7 days. Then you can use a residue-free dreadlock shampoo.
Sea salt is actually great for new dreads so don’t hesitate to jump in the water!
